How to Secure Long Natural Nails Under Press-Ons
Keep the length. Seal the gap. THAT’S the hack.
If cutting your natural nails before applying press-ons is simply not happening, add this finishing step to your application.
Once your press-ons are applied, check underneath where your natural nail ends. A small amount of nail glue at that meeting point can help keep the natural nail attached to the press-on.
Watch below to see how it's done.
Here’s how to do it:
- Check your fit. Your press-ons should cover your natural nails fully and sit comfortably without being forced into place.
- Keep it clean and dry. Check underneath each nail before adding glue.
- Apply a small amount. Place the glue where your natural nail’s free edge meets the underside of the press-on. Avoid the surrounding skin.
- Let it set. Follow your nail glue’s directions before touching or disturbing the area.
Securing that edge may help reduce the opening where liquids can get between the nails. It isn’t a waterproof seal, and it doesn’t replace proper prep or sizing. If a press-on lifts during wear, remove it and reapply after cleaning and drying instead of adding glue into the gap.
Keep your length. Give your application that finishing touch.
