ShadedbyShanell was founded in 2018 by Shanell with a simple idea: create a nude nail shade that beautifully complemented Black and brown skin.

But bringing that idea to life proved to be anything but simple.

After more than a year of research, development, and trying to create the nail polish she originally envisioned, Shanell reached a turning point. The product may not have been coming together the way she planned, but she wasn’t willing to walk away from the reason she started.

So she changed the approach, not the goal.

That determination led Shanell to press-on nails. They gave her another way to create the shades, styles, and finished nail looks she had been searching for, while giving women the convenience of achieving them on their own.

What began as a pivot became the foundation for ShadedbyShanell as you know it today.

As SBS grew, so did the vision.

The brand expanded beyond nude shades into a curated collection of press-on nails designed for women who want more from what they wear. From effortless everyday styles to statement designs and original SBS collections, each set is chosen or created with intention.

Because at SBS, nails aren’t treated as an afterthought. They’re part of how you show up.

And beautiful nails are only one part of that experience.

SBS has grown to include nail essentials, education, and products designed to support the entire press-on experience, from application and long-lasting wear to removal and reuse.
